Force Gurkha 5-door Launched, Prices start from Rs 18 Lakh

A few days after its debut, the Force Gurkha 5-door variant has been introduced with a starting price of Rs 18 lakh (introductory ex-showroom). Additionally, the existing 3-door Gurkha model has undergone similar upgrades in features and powertrain, now available at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 16.75 lakh.

Design Upgrades

The Force Gurkha 5-door retains the classic boxy SUV design similar to its 3-door variant. At the front, it showcases circular LED headlights with LED DRLs and a 3-door variant, the Gurkha 5-door comes equipped with a factory-installed snorkel positioned on the A-pillar.

When viewed from the side, the Gurkha 5-door’s elongated profile compared to its 3-door variant is readily apparent, highlighted by the inclusion of two additional doors and updated 18-inch alloy wheels. The SUV is also adorned with ‘4X4X4’ badges positioned on the rear fenders. Transitioning to the rear, it contains LED tail lights, a rooftop spare wheel, and a ladder facilitating access to the roof rack. Notably, in its latest 5-door variant, the Force SUV exhibits a striking resemblance to the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.

The design of the 3-door Force Gurkha remains unchanged from its previous iteration, although with a notable addition of newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels borrowed from the Gurkha 5-door variant.

Interior Upgrades

Inside the cabin, both the 3-door and 5-door variants of the Force Gurkha showcase an identical dashboard layout. However, the Gurkha 5-door distinguishes itself with an additional row of seats and refreshed upholstery. Specifically, the 5-door Gurkha is outfitted with bench seats in the second row and captain seats in the third row, along with rear roof-mounted AC vents.

Force has provided both variants of the Gurkha with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, manual air conditioning, and a digital driver’s display. In addition, the Gurkha 5-door is furnished with all four power windows, whereas its 3-door variant includes a power window solely for the front. The rear passengers also benefit from a fixed panoramic window.

Regarding safety features, both SUVs come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The revised Gurkha series utilizes the same 2.6-liter diesel engine, however, tuned to a higher state this time.

The Gurkha 5-door and 3-door variants are both equipped with a standard 4X4 drivetrain, incorporating a low-range transfer case and manually locking front and rear differentials. In the recent update, they have also been enhanced with an electronic swift for the transfer case, enabling shift-on-the-fly functionality to switch between 2H, 4H, and 4L modes. Additionally, both SUVs offer a ground clearance of 233 mm and, with the factory-installed snorkel, offer a water-wading capacity of 700 mm.
